Choosing a psychologist is a personal decision, and finding someone you feel comfortable with is just as important as their qualifications or experience.

I'm Dr Annily Dee, a HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years' experience working within the NHS. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of supporting people facing some of life's most challenging circumstances, including living with chronic pain, long-term health conditions, neurological conditions and significant life changes.

Clinical Psychologist

One thing I've learned is that people rarely come to therapy simply because of a diagnosis. They come because life has become harder than it used to be. They may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, anxious or as though they've lost a part of themselves. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can make sense of what's happening and work together to help you move towards a life that feels richer, more meaningful and more manageable.

I believe therapy should feel collaborative rather than something that's "done to you". Every person has their own story, strengths and challenges, so I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than following a rigid programme. My approach is warm, compassionate and practical, combining psychological science with real-life strategies that you can take away and use between sessions.

While I have specialist expertise in supporting people living with chronic pain, fibromyalgia, Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and other long-term health conditions, I also work with people experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, adjustment to illness, self-criticism and the emotional impact of life's unexpected challenges. I also support partners, family members and carers who are navigating these experiences alongside someone they love.

Above all, I want clients to leave therapy feeling more confident, more compassionate towards themselves and better equipped to face whatever life brings. If you think that you'd like to find out more, you can email or contact me here.

Experience

Over 15 years' experience as a Clinical Psychologist within the NHS, working across specialist physical health and pain services. I am currently the head of clinical health psychology, leading and developing psychological support for people living with health difficulties

Alongside my activity in clinical health, I have developed specialist expertise in supporting people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). I have worked as part of a national research trial delivering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for people with MND and have provided psychological support to individuals and their families throughout the course of the illness.

My experience across these specialist services has given me a deep understanding of the emotional impact that long-term health conditions can have - not only on the person living with the condition, but also on those closest to them.
